Anne M. Paxton is counsel in the Firm's Labor and Employee Benefits practice.
Ms. Paxton joined O'Dwyer & Bernstien in 1992 as an Associate Attorney. She currently serves the firm as counsel, concentrating in all matters relating to Qualified Domestic Relations Orders and Qualified Medical Child Support Orders. Ms. Paxton's work for the Firm's employee benefit plans includes advising plans with respect to compliance with requirements of ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code in developing and implementing QDRO and QMCSO policies and procedures, review of domestic relations orders and medical child support orders for qualification in accordance with plan provisions, interpreting QDRO provisions, including early retirement subsidies, cost-of living adjustments, and qualified pre- and post-retirement annuities. Ms. Paxton maintains direct communication with officers and employees of client plans on all aspects of QDRO and QMSCO review and interpretation.
As an Associate with the firm, Ms. Paxton concentrated in medical malpractice litigation. In that capacity, Ms. Paxton represented the Firm's clients in the Dalkon Shield products liability litigation, and successfully arbitrated dozens of claims in claims tribunals held in Dublin, Ireland.
