Andrew R. GraBois is an Associate in the Firm's Labor and Employee Benefits practice.
Andrew GraBois began his career at O'Dwyer & Bernstien as a Summer Associate. After completing his Juris Doctor degree, Mr. GraBois joined the firm's Labor and Employee Benefits practice as an Associate, where he represents labor organizations, corporations and joint labor/management benefit funds in a variety of industries.
Mr.GraBois counsels clients on their rights and obligations derived from collective bargaining agreements and represents clients as primary counsel in disciplinary hearings and arbitrations, labor negotiations and strategy sessions, employer investigations and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board. He also regularly drafts employee handbooks for clients to utilize in day-to-day operations and drafts employee related contracts including separation agreements, non-compete covenants and grievance/dispute settlement agreements. Mr. GraBois also conducts weekly training classes for clients on the practical application of various labor laws.
Additionally, Mr. GraBois represents clients in various aspects of Employee Benefits Law, including issues relating to ERISA's fiduciary duty and prohibited transaction provisions, the collection of delinquent benefit fund contributions, and the merger of employee benefit plans. He has drafted various plan documents including summary plan descriptions and plan participation agreements. Mr. GraBois also regularly serves as counsel in litigation arising from employee benefit plans, including actions to collect delinquent benefit fund contributions and actions relating to the enforcement of arbitration awards.
