Helen Wrobel is an Associate in the Firm's Labor and Employee Benefits practice
Helen Wrobel joined O'Dwyer & Bernstien in 2006. Ms. Wrobel currently represents the Suffolk County Association of Municipal Employees and counsels other union clients on various aspects of Labor Law. She represents both public and private sector labor unions in arbitrations, mediations, disciplinary hearings, administrative proceedings, contract interpretations and collective bargaining negotiations.
She also conducts union staff member training in various areas, including sexual harassment and workplace rights and responsibilities.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Wrobel served as both a Staff Attorney (four years) and outside counsel (eight years) for 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East in New York City. Her varied work for the union included conducting grievance training for union organizers, members, and shop stewards and advising members on unemployment insurance, Worker's Compensation and discrimination issues.
Ms. Wrobel's diverse career also includes public affairs positions in the office of the Bronx Borough President, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the American Associates of Ben-Gurion University.
