Ian K. Henderson is an Associate in the firm's labor and employee benefits practice.
Mr. Henderson began his career at O'Dwyer & Bernstien in 2006 as a paralegal. He managed certain litigation matters related to its labor organization and employee benefit plan clients, including actions to collect delinquent benefit fund contributions and actions to enforce arbitration awards.
Since joining the firm's Labor and Employee Benefits practice as an Associate, Mr. Henderson has advised pension, welfare, annuity and 401(k) plans on various matters including compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, DOL and HHS guidelines and applicable regulations and represented clients in the collection of delinquent benefit fund contributions. In addition, Mr. Henderson assists labor organizations in an array of areas, including labor disputes, contractual arbitrations, internal union disputes and compliance issues.
Mr. Henderson completed his Juris Doctor at New York Law School, where he was a member of New York Law School's Labor and Employment Law Society. While concentrating his studies on labor and employment law, Mr. Henderson authored an independent study on the enforceability of mandatory arbitration provisions in collective bargaining agreements.
Mr. Henderson is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association.
