Raul Garcia
Of Counsel

Raul Garcia joined O'Dwyer & Bernstien in 2002 and became Of Counsel to the Firm in 2010. Mr. Garcia's practice includes both Personal Injury and Labor Relations Law. He has broad experience in union-side labor relations, representing the Firm's union clients in such matters as grievance arbitrations (involving disciplinary and contractual issues), representational and unfair labor practice cases pending before the NLRB, PERB and PERC, and contract negotiations. Mr. Garcia regularly counsels unions, and shop stewards in particular, on matters such as job site safety, secondary activity and contract enforcement.

Mr. Garcia is also involved with the Firm's Personal Injury practice, concentrating on construction accident cases, which is consistent with his experience in working with shop stewards and union officials in advancing job site safety standards.

In 2004, Mr. Garcia served as an advisor to the John Kerry Presidential Campaign, providing legal advice and Election Law training to Democratic Party attorneys and poll workers from Kissimmee, FL.

Prior to joining O'Dwyer & Bernstien, Mr. Garcia worked as a Staff Attorney for DC37 Municipal Employees Legal Service Plan (MELS). While attending law school, he clerked at the Major League Baseball Players Association and interned at Main Street Legal Service, Inc., where he represented clients seeking political asylum and assisted individuals with other immigration matters.
