A man from New York City has been charged with manslaughter after he crashed into a minivan while driving the wrong way. The 23-year-old man was driving a minivan that was stolen when the accident occurred.

It happened in Manhattan on the Henry Hudson Parkway. According to authorities, the man was driving the wrong way on the parkway when he hit a 2008 Subaru head-on near West 79th Street.

The accident claimed the life of a 54-year-old woman passenger from Fair Lawn who was in the Subaru. She was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, but died there.

The man is facing many other charges in connection with the crash, such as reckless driving, reckless endangerment, license plate violations, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident.

The driver of the Subaru is considered a witness to the accident by authorities and the driver’s name has not been released. It is not known if that driver was injured in the accident. There was also a passenger in the vehicle that struck the Subaru. That person was not charged by police.

It’s tragic when someone’s death results from another person’s negligence or recklessness. If you have lost a loved one in an accident and you want to seek compensation from the at-fault driver, an attorney can provide information on how to proceed with such a lawsuit and what damages you can seek. While no amount of money can bring back your loved one, a settlement or award can help you deal with the financial aftermath of the accident.
